Hello everyone

Two points:
While I can see the need for the kind of scholarly journal under discussion,
I think there is a danger of expecting there to be one definitive source of
discussion on ANY topic these days - especially one that can be as diverse
as records management. So, I would endorse the role of a professional
association in providing a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal, but would
suggest that a wide variety of sources of quality information are required
by both professionals and academics, and it may be up to them to actively
seek these.

Also:
I would also like to draw the attention of the list to Information Research,
an "open access, international, peer-reviewed, scholarly journal, dedicated
to making accessible the results of research across a wide range of
information-related disciplines". http://informationr.net/ir/ It is not on
Rachel Hardiman's excellent list; apologies if someone else has mentioned
it.

While 'records management' is only one of the many aspects it covers, it
DOES cover RM, and a great many closely-related topics too. I think it's a
great source of high-quality research and articles, and provides some
interesting and challenging perspectives from all round the world.

(Disclaimer: I copy-edit for IR - this is voluntary, unpaid work.)
I am a part-time consultant in RM, and a part time lecturer in Information
and Library Studies. As a lecturer, my professional focus is on continuing
professional development.

Regards
Amanda
