Both the San Francisco Airport and the Oakland Airport are within an easy distance to the conference location.
The BART fare is less from OAK and takes less time because there are fewer stops than from SFO. The ground transportation costs more from OAK because of tolls along the way and it is 6 miles farther away than SFO. Ground transportation from SFO is quicker - about 20 minutes to the conference location.
I suggest finding the best flight for you travel dates and times going into either airport.

Subject: Best Airport for 2010 ARMA Conference?
Just curious - for folks familiar with traveling in and out of the San Francisco
Bay Area, which airport do you recommend flying into for the ARMA
conference - San Francisco or Oakland? The prices for the ground/rail
transportation to the conference hotel seem vary so that wasn't much of a
clue (some are cheaper from SFO and others are cheaper from OAK).
