Good timing!! My group is also working on standards for our ERMS (naming, file structure, indexing, etc). I would appreciate any help/tips/sources you would be willing to share as well.

Subject: Organizational Standards (examples needed!!)
Ok. Back to Basics:
Currently, the municipality I work for has a very decentralized model of
records management - we are trying to overcome some of the obstacles
that such a model can present by standardizing some of our practices.
I am turning to the vast wisdom of the listserve for some examples of
procedures, guidelines, or policies you may have issued or put in place in
your organization (particularly beneficial would be standards surrounding
the indexing of electronic documents within an EDMS <ie. formatting,
case, how are addresses listed? how is punctuation used? etc.>, file
format requirements, scanning parameters, etc.)
I am obviously starting from square one here, so any help would be
appreciated!!
Thank you!
