Hi Everyone,

Below please find a listing of grants that your organization may be able to
qualify for. These are NHPRC (National Historical Preservation & Records
Commission) grants. To look for current available grants on an ongoing
basis go here: http://www.archives.gov/nhprc/announcement/. There are
several categories for grant applications. If a deadline has passed to
submit a grant, new grant opportunities will appear in June.

The grants that are still open for consideration this year are listed below.
These grants are applicable to all States as the primary program is
sponsored by NARA. It is important that the submission criteria are
carefully adhered to when putting together the grant proposal.

These grants are an amazing opportunity for records management professionals
that are interested in archives and historical preservation to become more
involved in local non-profits and academic institutions to work on public
records projects. Regardless of how small the collection is, a well written
grant may qualify an organization to receive funds to preserve a truly
unique collection of records and raise public access to those records,
particularly through automation for electronic records projects. If you do
not qualify for a grant, please send this message to colleagues and
institutions that may qualify for funding.

For those that are unfamiliar with grant writing, the State of California
will be offering grant writing classes throughout the State. If anyone is
interested in attending a grant writing class please contact me and I will
keep you posted of upcoming locations, dates and times. As I am the Records
Management Advisor within CHRAB (California Historical Records Advisory
Board), I only represent California through CHRAB, therefore I can only
answer questions for applicants interested in applying for NHPRC grants in
the State of California. Each grant should have a contact person listed for
additional assistance or contact your local SHRAB (State Historical Records
Advisory Board) office within your State.

Best of luck -ilona
