Hello Lee

I spent 10 years in SE Asia (Singapore) in records managment. Sinapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong were both British Commonwealth countries, so retention periods are pretty much the same. China is a whole new "ball game". I did attend a Records Management Conference in Beijing several years ago and I was impressed with their work in the Archivists area but just emerging in records. There is a University records/archives program in China that probably would be a good source, if someone else does not come forward. There was a company called "Retention Research Associates" in St Louis, Missouri, which was doing country by country retention schedules called "Global Recordkeeping Requirements"

If you have specific series (classification/type) of records you are interested in, please email me and I might be able to help you.

Robert
