Trent:
You should be aware that many seasoned professionals are not certified records managers. Also, many organizations without a CRM on staff can benefit from a software you describe.

Subject: [RM] EDRMS Research and Development (Response Requested)
My company (http://www.stewartsdp.com/downloads/brochure.pdf) has
begun the process (6-9 months projected) of developing a secure, web-based
EDRMS program. According to ARMA International, “It's estimated that more
than 90% of the records being created today are electronic. Coupled with the
overwhelming growth of electronic messages - most notably e-mail and instant
messaging - the management of electronic records has become a critical
business issue.”
What we intend to do is develop a broad-based and customizable EDRMS,
exclusive to certified records management professionals, providing an
additional resource in a CRM’s bag of tools that can be utilized for clients who
rely heavily on their data files/emails and/or would like to move to a more
paperless environment. It would provide an environment wherein files could be
more easily screened, viewed, sorted, classified, and filed by the CRM as well
as a management platform to maintain the prescribed system for the client.
We realize that we are experts of software development, not records
management. We are also not so bold as to assume that “one size fits all”
when it comes to the methods and processes utilized by each CRM. Which is
why the input of seasoned CRM professionals is critical to the success of this
project.
As such, it makes sense that rather than holding this project close to the
chest until development is complete, we are looking to engage certified
professionals for feedback as we continue the initial development of this
resource. We are not asking for money, only time. We are more than willing
to compensate any time and effort with free, exclusive subscriptions to the
service during the initial Beta launch phase. What we are also seeking to do is
develop long-term relationships with just a few seasoned professionals that
would act as an advisory board as we continue to develop and enhance the
program in the years ahead.
If you are interested in being part of this process or are simply interested in
finding out more information, please respond to this request via email

I greatly appreciate your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Trent McCool
