Obama administration appeals ruling on White House visitor logs - Josh
Gerstein - POLITICO.com

The Obama administration<http://topics.politico.com/index.cfm/topic/obamaadministration>
is
appealing a judge's ruling that Secret Service records of visitors to the
White House complex are subject to disclosure under the Freedom of
Information Act <http://topics.politico.com/index.cfm/topic/foia>.

The Justice Department filed a formal notice of appeal Friday afternoon
regarding U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell's August
ruling<http://www.politico.com/blogs/joshgerstein/0811/Judge_White_House_visitor_records_subject_to_FOIA.html>rejecting
arguments that the so-called WAVES records belong to the White
House even though they are maintained and used by the Secret Service.
