Future Proof – Protecting our digital future » Disposal in a digital environment One of the things recordkeeping professionals really struggle with in the digital environment is the management of disposal. In the paper world we would be called in when that storage room got too full or when a move was underway to clean up the pile of records and sort out their disposal or transfer. In the digital world there are not often visual queues or these kind of imperatives for disposal. The attitude of senior staff is often “You can just add that extra server when space is short can’t you?” Disposal is never seen as a priority. http://bit.ly/rMieO1 Source: http://futureproof.records.nsw.gov.au/disposal-in-a-digital-environment/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+drims+(Future+Proof)<http://futureproof.records.nsw.gov.au/disposal-in-a-digital-environment/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+drims+%28Future+Proof%29> See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/rMieO1+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: http://bitly.com/pages/sidebar -- Peter Kurilecz CRM CA [log in to unmask] Richmond, Va http://twitter.com/RAINbyte http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/RAINbyte/ http://paper.li/RAINbyte/rainbyte Information not relevant for my reply has been deleted to reduce the electronic footprint and to save the sanity of digest subscribers List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance To unsubscribe from this list, click the below link.
