Coroner seeks permanent repository for death files | Online Athens

Wilson decided then it was time to end the archaic practice in which
coroners maintained custody of records of the deaths they investigated,
even after leaving office.

“When I came into office, all the coroners had their own cases, which is a
common practice in small- and medium-size counties,” Wilson said.
