Hello all,
As I face another long night of poring over figures in an attempt to
accommodate looming budget reductions, I realize that I have a very
basic question for which I do not possess an adequate answer, so here goes:
For records managers and archivists administering a records management
program in a college or university environment, do you store records
with an offsite vendor (i.e., Iron Mountain, etc.), and if so, what is
your total count of cartons stored with that vendor (approximate)?
Naturally the answer to this question will vary widely according to the
scale of the institution and the manner in which it and its records
management program operates. I simply am trying to see if we here at my
institution (University of Delaware) are at all in the general territory
of comparable institutions, because the inevitable questions will arise,
as they do every year lately when budget cuts are discussed.
Since this question has some sensitivity, you may wish to contact me
off-list at [log in to unmask] or 302-831-2750. Thanks in advance, both
for your assistance and understanding.
Ian
