Wayne commented "But I think I'm preaching to the choir."
It always comes back to this, doesn't it: how to convince Executive Management, AND the corporate entity as a whole, that records management applies beyond the sheets of paper in a box?

Subject: Re: Forms Placement On Retention Schedule
You've hit the nail on the head for me on this issue. I've heard the argument
countless times: it's electronic now, and things are different. Yes, it is true
that things are different given the big changes to how we use information in
electronic form vs. paper - but principles of management apply just as much if
not even MORE, given the greater volume and complexity. It's been said too
many times in a variety of ways: "It's too big to handle, so let's leave it a big
mess until magical new software arises to clean it up." Arrgh.
But I think I'm preaching to the choir. Sorry.
