Hi all,

Apologies for my presumption but thought some of you would be interested in
a couple of updates to the certification AIIM developed earlier this year.

1. We have decided to change the name from "Information Certification" to
"Certified Information Professional." There are a couple of reasons for
this, including confusion about whether the certification was for
organizations or individuals (the latter). The exam itself has not changed.

2. We have released a comprehensive series of 112 videos that address all of
the areas covered on the exam. These videos are free and available from the
AIIM website at
http://www.aiim.org/Training/Certification/Get-Trained/Videos/Overview. We
are also actively working with several firms to develop and deliver more
comprehensive training workshops and materials. As with any other formal
certification, training is certainly NOT required to sit for the exam, but
it is often helpful and may be particularly useful for the CIP given the
breadth of the exam. And as with most certifications, membership is not
required either to sit for the exam or to maintain the CIP (though 45 hours
of continuing education over 3 years is).

You can find more information about the CIP at
http://www.aiim.org/certification; you can also contact me directly at
[log in to unmask] I regularly blog on the CIP on the AIIM Communities blog
at http://aiimcommunities.org/.
