Pat,

I believe the PMP is an extremely valuable credential for records
managers. Sooner or later in a records manager's career they will be
leading a project or serving as a team member. Preparing for the PMP
also provides a a great foundation for other records management
aspects. The PMP is one of the most recognizable certification in the
world. Then again I am probably a little biased since I hold the PMP
and serve as the Records Manager for PMI. :>)

Another credential that I think would be helpful for a records manager
to pursue is the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
sponsored by the International Association of Privacy Professionals
(www.privacyassociation.org).

I'm talking about certification administered by a certifying body, e.g., the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation certified by the Project Management Institute, and not a certificate of completion of specific courses.  Thanks!
