Maryland, Calvert County moves toward uniform document retention policy

Calvert County is in the process of finalizing a countywide system of
retaining public documents, including employee emails, in order to conform
with state requirements.

“The county currently doesn’t have a document retention policy as required
by the state,” Associate County Attorney Pamela Lucas said at Tuesday’s
Calvert County Board of County Commissioners meeting. “Up until this time
the county departments have basically developed their own informal document
retention policy.”
