Thanks Gordy - that is a nice summation of Hamlet's devious plan, and
definition of "petar[d]".  The explanation I typically give is it means
someone has harmed themself with their own weapon.

Had KPMG simply cooperated and provided even a single hard drive, the fate
of its eventual VERY EXPENSIVE preservation requirements would have been
born out much sooner (and potentially in their favor, and without a
complete denial of their protection request).
