Join Project Performance Corporation and Concept Searching for the second in the Series of Expert Webinars focused on SharePoint 2010. Don't start from scratch - get advice on where to start with facets for SharePoint Term Store. This session will give strategy for developing your own facets, as well as common facets that many organizations use.

We will examine the core principles behind designing a business taxonomy and metadata schema that will provide the foundation for SharePoint information architecture. And we will explore how the schema can be translated into a tool such as conceptClassifier for SharePoint, and the benefits of automatic content tagging from the schema.

Business taxonomies organize unstructured and distributed content into a consistent, structured schema - presenting the 'big picture' of enterprise information, enriching the capabilities of search tools, and driving business processes.

We will also discuss why business taxonomy is such an integral component to any SharePoint 2010 deployment and how metadata and taxonomies can be used to improve not only search, but Records Management, Compliance, and Data Privacy challenges. And we will demonstrate conceptClassifier for SharePoint, Concept Searching's integrated Term Store taxonomy and auto-classification solution, that leverages Project Performance Corporation's strategy and best practices

What you will take away from this session:
* Understand how to leverage different Term Sets as facets for classification * Designing enterprise facets versus facets for departments or business units * Take away facets leveraged by many companies as a starting point * Why metadata capture is critical for building robust taxonomies * What is a metadata schema and why it's so important * How to design a schema aligned to the business and its processes * Best practices in taxonomy strategies for ensuring that your end users and/or your external audiences remain the primary focus in the design process * Benefits of a taxonomy * Eliminating manual metadata tagging and why automatic conceptual metadata generation builds a consistent enterprise framework * Intuitive and unique features in conceptTaxonomyManager that integrate with and read and write in real time to the SharePoint Term Store leveraging the metadata schema to drive business value.
