Marvel and DC and Manga studios - make their works available via

As for the Kindle, my 82 year old technophobe boss who doesn't use a
cell phone, call waiting and definitely not email or internet of any
kind (he gets me to use it for him) has a Kindle.

Why? He had 1400 books in his apartment - no room for books! But he
doesn't want to not buy books, and this was the solution that he
thought of. He doesn't know how to put books *on* the Kindle (I do
that) but he had me write out instructions on and show him how to turn
pages and pick which book he wanted next.

He's in Japan now, where I print out his emails and fax them to his
hotel, for him to write replies on and have them faxed back.

Last year, he was in Tokyo during the earthquake, and the three things
he took from his room while climbing down 42 flights of stairs in his
hotel room was his jacket, his passport and his Kindle. And as they
gave him a chair while they scrambled to get power back on, and he sat
down and just read quietly till they were able to give him a room. I
have Kindle on my phone for the same reason my technophobe boss does -
because I don't have room for any more books in my apartment! I have
more books than bookshelf space - but not ever reading another book
till I throw books out is not a sensible option. (Not in my world
anyway)

It doesn't mean we don't love curling up with a good book, and I
certainly have paper books in my bathroom (I am not reading anything
digital in the bathtub), but this is NYC and we are eternally strapped
for space, and Kindle makes a good answer for some space issues.
