Online Privacy Laws Can Cause Discovery Woes

Membership in social media apparently has its privileges. But could
protecting employee passwords turn out to be a pricey proposition for
employers when it comes to e-discovery?

A new law was passed in Maryland preventing employers from requiring
current and prospective employees to disclose passwords and user names to
online social media and communications sites — a practice until now allowed
in every state.
