To me the issue is the huge amount of time that you spend agreeing to let people link to you and the referrals back and forth and pretty soon you have 250 to 500 connections and a supposed value and then the site exposes you and everyone you asked to Link to. This is a professional embarrassment. I send to you Larry a request for a connection, you reluctantly agree thinking, "It's good Ol' Hugh, why not?"

Now it is all exposed and you think "Doggone that low down Hugh!" So there is damage to your reputation for even asking people to connect to you. I never saw a value in LinkedIn and when so many friends asked me to connect, I agreed. But it worried me and we discussed it on the List here.

I canceled my LinkedIn account but it was really hard at first to make them shut it down. Even after I was out, I was still receiving LinkIn posts from various sites that still had me in their data base.

Where do I send the bill for 200 man-hours of wasted time on LinkedIn for no value and eventually a huge embarrassment? They offered a service and all a professional had to do was donate hundreds of hours of time but then the payback is not there. I think that becomes the basis of my lawsuit........Oh Wait! I am not a lawyer. Doggone it!

I almost had my briefs ready. And writing on Fruit of the Loom is harder than it looks. I don't know how real lawyers do it? Plus this is clearly a case of Nunc Pro Tunc.
