Working in government for a number of years it never ceases to amaze me the conversations that government employees conduct through email and social media for the orgs they work under. When speaking on behalf of the RIM program for new employee orientation, I always remind them that if they don't want it in the news or in a newspaper - don'tPut your phone down and pet me! put it in email or business records. I then remind them that we are subject to FOIA requests. Although governments deny a lot of requests -unless they can prove to the courts why the records those records are exempt from being released, then they usually are. However, it's a funny thing how disgruntled employees have ways of releasing that information so well protected. The dirt always comes out in the wash sometime or another as the saying goes
