In preparing my latest homework assignment of writing a business case in 500 words to present to Executive management to persuade them to invest in E-mail management software, I spoke to my marvellous IT fellow. He suggested as one of the possible solutions to my hypothetical email problem getting a piece of hardware along the lines of the Barracuda Message Archiver.

So, as I understand it, email software uses existing hardware.

Email hardware is software with new hardware.

(I don't understand much, that's why I'm in school.)
