A case occurring in Portland where an ex-mortgage broker is challenging the
foreclosure of her home based on what she claims are faulty documents
maintained by Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS). Among the
alleged issues are that "the company’s database bypasses public-recording
laws in place since colonial times."
