I think it is fair to say that "dashboard" has multiple meanings. Mimi, your
example matches the use we made of it in Multnomah County. Pilar, your
definition matches the kind of workflow related dashboard I was just
discussing with a manager literally minutes before this conversation began
(which is why I joined it!). I think the "report" definition used by Mimi
and the county most closely matches "dashboard" with "record". I think the
workflow definition Pilar uses better matches "dashboard" as a non-record
interface, in which I agree with Pilar's assessment that the underlying data
stream represents the real record unless captured in some other form.
