Hawaii legislators bid aloha to controversial data retention bill - Computerworld Lawmakers in Hawaii on Thursday quietly dropped a bill that would have required Internet service providers to collect the detailed browsing histories of Internet users in the state and store the data for at least two years. The bill, HB 2288<http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2012/Bills/HB2288_.pdf>, would have required anyone providing access to the Internet in Hawaii to maintain "consumer records" of every Internet user's subscriber information and data such as the IP addresses, domain names and host names of the sites they visit. http://bit.ly/ABUuYv Source: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9223770/Hawaii_legislators_bid_aloha_to_controversial_data_retention_bill?taxonomyId=84 See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/ABUuYv+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: http://bitly.com/pages/sidebar List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance To unsubscribe from this list, click the below link.
