While this piece is specifically written for entities whose actions are
governed by the National Archives of Australia, and must manage records in
accordance with that entity's Archives Act of 1983, there is a TON of
excellent advice here.

I'd strongly suggest anyone whose organization or Agency that is considering
use of a public or quasi-public cloud service provider to evaluate the
issues and concerns presented here (insert the requirements that impact who
governs your requirements for security, privacy, etc where applicable) prior
to taking that first step into developing an RFP for cloud services.

Of special concern should be the language about location, third party
agreements, provider viability, ability to perform audits, proprietary
software, and commingling of content on servers and backups.

It may be inevitable, but it doesn't have to be at a high risk. Make others
aware of the risks to your information AND your organization prior to their
lauding the benefits.
