Glenn Sanders said "well, up here in Oz we do it the sensible logical 
non-ambiguous way - dd mm yyyy - so we had our holiday a year ago on 
9-10-11".

Well down (?) here in Canada we're typically split:  some follow the 
Americans, some follow the Brits.  Personally, I'm waiting to celebrate on 
November 10th.
