Republican leaders in the Idaho Legislature say they are beginning to see
the merit in creating a video archive of the debates and proceedings that
play out each day on the floor of the House and Senate.

For years, lawmakers in the state have been reluctant to establish such an
official record. Idaho is among 17 states that don't maintain a video
archive of statehouse action that can be made available to the public.
