Good afternoon,

I know this post is a little late and most college students may've already found summer jobs or internship opportunities, but I thought I'd take a chance anyway. We're looking for a summer intern to help in our Records Management department. He/she must be local in the Atlanta area-we're in Alpharetta, just north of Atlanta. This position will pay in the mid-high $20's an hour, the exact amount has not yet been determined, and you may need to register with a temporary placement firm to work here (they may also do a background check).

You MUST be a current college/university student (undergraduate or graduate), majoring in--or taking records and information management coursework. Some previous records management experience would be helpful, but is not required. You must also have good MS Office 2010 skills, including Word, Excel, and especially Access, as well as some familiarity with SharePoint 2010, and the MS Windows 7 Enterprise operating system. Some lifting will be required for boxes weighing up to 35 lbs. or more. You'll be in a professional office environment, but some work may need to be done in a warehouse type of environment. You'll be a member of our RM Team, and may have opportunities to interface with Legal, Compliance, IT, Technical Services, Finance, and other functions/departments here at Colonial, including Field Operations. Some light travel may also be available.

You'll be hands-on involved in a variety of RM projects including traditional records inventories, retention schedule development (we're currently "refreshing" them now), email management (we're looking to reviewing/maybe overhauling our email management program), electronic records management, critical records identification and protection management, and more.

Equally as important as the above, is that you must have good analytical skills as well. If you are interested, know someone who might be interested, or if you are a college or university interested in developing criteria for school credit, please respond to me off-list at the email address below, with a current resume, and a statement of interest-please, NO phone calls at this time). Though I am late in posting this request to the ListServ, we'd like to find someone to start within the next 2-3 weeks, and can be available through early-mid August.

Finally, this opportunity doesn't have to be that of a 'formal" internship, as if you meet the requirements as stated above and want a good summer job, then I hope to her from you too.

Thanks.
Earl
