Public information officers to be responsible for missing files: BMC -
Times Of India

MUMBAI: If any file or record goes missing from any civic department, the
concerned public information officer (PIO) will be held responsible, states
a circular issued by the Birhanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

This comes after it was revealed that over 6,000 files on buildings had
gone missing from key civic departments over the years. Some of the files
contained details of buildings like the Taj
Mahal<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Taj-Mahal>hotel and
government installations. TOI was the first to report about the
missing files on June 2.
