Hi All, my last four orgs (over about 12 years) and where RIM fit:

Current (non-profit):	IT (ultimately VP of IT)
Previous (law firm):	Risk Management (ultimately COO and close collaboration with General Counsel)
Previous (law firm):	IT (directly to Information Systems, then up to IT - Records was called "Information Lifecycle Management") (Ultimately CIO) 
Previous (law firm):	IT (Ultimately CIO)
