Job Announcement: Head of Records Scheduling and Storage, Records Management Branch, Hawaii State Archives

The Hawaii State Archives has an immediate vacancy for a records management professional at its State Records Center, Located in Honolulu, Hawaii -- Salary range is SR-22 ($4,231 to $4,954 per month, Step C to G)

The primary purpose of this position is to manage and supervise the Records Scheduling and Storage Section of the Records Management Branch of the State Archives.
Among the Major Duties of this position are:

*       Development and continuous revision of records retention and disposition schedules for executive departments and provide advisement upon request to the legislature

*       Developing records retention and disposition policies in response to legal changes and technological changes, such as new electronic records storage methods and media

*       Revising the General Records Schedule and to develop and revise schedules for the departments of Accounting and General Services, Attorney General, Budget & Finance, Defense, Education, Human Resources Development, and the University of Hawaii

*       Monitoring State legislation for any changes regarding government records

*       Formulate policies and methodologies for use by State agencies in managing their digital records

*       Provide training to the executive branch on procedures for records management activities

*       Manage a records center for non-current, non-permanent records of State agencies

*       Develop and enforce approved storage eligibility criteria and policies for the State Records Center

*       Project and plan space and staffing needs for State Records Center

*       Implement quality control measures of efficient management of a records center facility having a paper storage capacity of 60 ,000 cubic feet

*       Oversee the issuance of bills for collections to agencies that pay for records storage services

*       Supervise clerical staff in the daily operation of records storage and retrieval services
