Hi,

Some manufacturers say CDs can be usable for 100s of years considering 
the correct storage conditions.  A CD lifespan can be as short as 2 years.  
Most companies store CDs in areas with high fluctuations in temperature 
causing repeated expansion/contraction of the CDs which cause them to 
warp.  In this kind of environment, a CD lifespan will probably end around 
20 years.  Also, keep in mind evolving technologies.
