Efforts by Gregg County clerks and commissioners to archive records dating
to the 19th century is getting praise from other counties in the state,
leaders said Monday.

County Clerk Connie Wade and District Clerk Barbara Duncan updated Gregg
County commissioners about the county's archival restoration process — and
their plans not only to save crumbling records from disintegrating but also
to have those records available online for the public.
