"In other words it has to have some purpose before it is a record." Well, what I am talking about is the records that are in databases. I am not saying that everything in all databases are records. I am saying that those records that are in a database need to be scheduled. Scheduling applies to those databases that contain records. Records, are created at or near the time of a transaction, need to be scheduled, and might exist in a database. "It didn't happen unless you write it down". "So let it be written. So let it be done" Rameses II I seem to remember all reference to Moses was removed from the record on the order of Rameses II as well. Thereby, saying that Moses never existed because there was no record of him. Interesting, Chris Flynn I've stopped 21,531 spam messages. You can too! "It didn't happen unless you write it down". This applies to the electronic world as well as the paper world. If at some point you don't "write it down" ie use it to make a decision, document an actions or confirm status or improve your company, then what do you have it for? I like this definition of an electronic record. Data and the application that makes it meaningful. In other words it has to have some purpose before it is a record. Anyway that's my take.
