Although it would make sense for an organization to embrace the ISO standard, I don't believe that legal mandates would make sense. As a believer in choice, I think that organizations should have an opportunity to chose to do what's best for them.....and not to have each and every phase of their business monitored by some sort of government agency. When it comes to adopting Records Management standards, I'd prefer to allow those who fail to implement such standards and practices to earn their "just deserts" in the courts system. Douglas P.
