What kind of scanning software are you using? Some software like Kofax Virtual Rescan allows you to improve the image quality and it removes the background noise (like paper discoloration). We've gotten as far back as the 1920's but due to the browning of the paper used way back then, our scanned images are too faint to read. The "trying to make a darker reproduction on the copy machine" trick hasn't worked either. Does anyone have a suggestion how we can get this document into electronic format? We could just retype the document for scanning purposes, but, since Ordinances are legal papers, we wondered how we would certify that the re-typed document was an official copy (if we can do that at all.) Thanks in advance for all your suggestions! ~L _____________________________________ Lucinda Williams, CMC Deputy City Clerk / Records Supervisor City of Brea (www.cityofbrea.net) 1 Civic Center Circle, Brea, CA 92821 714/990-7757 List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance
