Although I administer the off-site storage contract, and the web interface
with our vendor, where users (about 200 people in some 21 offices in about
13 major metropolitain areas coast-to-coast) make orders to send and recall
boxes, my department consisting of myself and one other person, can not
centrally take care of all orders.

We do set standard operating procedures and guidelines and review the
invoices - paid by each department - for problems. We offer training and
help offices resolving problems with the off-site storage vendor.

If I had a person I supervised in each small office and a handfull in the
larger offices it might be different, but that will never be the case.

Does anyone have a procedure for offsite storage from various departments
in your company? Is it controlled centrally through the records management
department or does each department have authority to recall and send boxes?
