Just a point of clarification, the Australian DIRKS methodology was jointly developed by New South Wales State Records and the National Archives of Australia and first issued in 2000. There were differences in the methodologies to account for the difference in jurisdiction. The National Archives issued a revised version in 2001 and has been regularly updated. It takes into account the requirements of the International Standard for Records Management ISO 15489. Information on the National Archives version of the DIRKS methodology is at http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/dirks/dirksman/dirks.html. It is based on and expands the best-practice approach outlined in ISO 15489. Refer: http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/dirks/dirksman/part1.html#bg1 Could anyone from the LISTSERV please advise of an equivalent methodology(s) that has been developed in the US (preferably applicable to corporates not only government). I have already obtained the draft Sedona Guidelines and Principals from the ARMA site which provides useful information.
