Hello everyone,

I want to mention to any readers of this forum who are not aware, that
there is a cheap alternative to documenting your employer's website. The
Internet Archive -- http://www.archive.org/ -- has been recording the
Internet since 1996. Brewster Kahle, the founder of the Internet Archive
saw the need to preserve a record of the Internet in part because he is
the inventor of the WAIS -- Wide Area Information Server, the Internet's
first distributed search system.

The Internet Archive has recently been involved in litigation about
whether it has the right to record Internet sites, and I remain a
supporter of their work and accomplishments. To learn more about their
work, please see the section of their website titled: "About IA."

For those recordkeeping professionals who do not have the resources and
storage location to document their employer's web site, I recommend
evaluating their service.

This is my opinion, and not my employer's.

Sincerely,
Jeff
Jeffrey Carter
