My two cents ... I don't anticipate purchasing (nor have a desire to) any eReader other than my phone and laptop.  Both are portable, and at least one or the other is quite suitable for reading just about anything (and I almost always have both within arm's reach).

My two big concerns are: 1) one more gadget to keep up with, and 2) as Peter mentioned, the issues with proprietary software/obsolescence, compatibility, etc.  And to a lesser degree, I share Jesse's concern about not wanting to read *everything* on a screen - I still like paper (forgive me Steve W.!!).
