I just received a brochure from California State University announcing a
Master's Degree Program "Knowledge Management."

It defines KM as follows:

KM can best be described as the strategic process through which an
organization maximizes value from its intellectual and knowledge-bases assets.

Further- An increasing number of organizations now employ knowledge
management professionals and even Chief Knowledge Officers (CKO's).

For example, KM professionals are routinely involved in activities centered
on intellectual property and capital assets, knowledge sharing and learning
culture, information organization and search strategies, technological
visualization and technical communication, and archives and records management.

We got in there, even if it is at the end. I have requested more information
on the course content. The recent ARMA Board decision on branding seems more
appropriate now. The proposed ARMA educational courses study should include
courses of this nature as well.
