So, how do you feel about these types of comments being read by those
charged with making decisions?

The comments come from individuals identified as "...administrative director
and data storage manager...", a "...chief information officer..." and
naturally, "..president (of a network design and mgmt firm)..."
*
...*Record-retention laws that have been passed by the federal government in
the wake of the Enron and WorldCom scandals also have contributed to that
rise..."

...the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which states that all business records,
including electronic records and messages, must be saved for at least five
years, poses a daunting challenge....

...Every time you scan a document you're looking at adding 30 to 60
kilobytes of information to storage for up to 20 years...A typical patient
chart could contain 200 pages, and we're moving toward a totally electronic
medical record system...

...The best strategy businesses can use to keep up with increased
data-storage demands is to upgrade capacities.... Housekeeping policies that
try to reduce the amount of information being used and stored typically
waste time...the cheapest way is to buy more equipment and services...

These stories should begin with "Once upon a time..." and end with "...and
the vendors lived happily ever after."
