Cindy Becknell asked:

I have a question I thought you might be able to help me with. If our
company has some unclaimed property (e.g., uncashed payroll checks, etc.),
how long are we required to keep this type of documentation? I don't think
there are actually any legal requirements, but have you heard any type of
strategy on these types of records?

The type of records that you have described is known as Escheatable
Property. The laws governing how long these records need to be kept is at
the state level.
