Just a precaution about time based "automatic" destruction
authorizations: A similar policy was followed in the county, and
resulted in a prevailing "truth" among various levels of the county that
"we destroy records without agencies knowing about it". This meme was
one of the single biggest barriers we faced initially in building a
customer base. This time based approach works well, I think, in
relatively centralized operations with strong policy and procedural
backing; less so in dispersed and even siloed ones that lack that. If
you have to operate in an entrepreneurial fashion to gain customer
support, as opposed to a regulated fashion, you may want to avoid this.
