Well said, John! That sums up my feelings and experience exactly. Theory
is what generates the ideas to deal with the unexpected. What's
important is not necessarily what the theory is specifically related to;
it's the ideas it can generate to meet the needs in your particular
context. Those ideas may end up resulting in actions which only have a
peripheral relation to the original theory which ignited them. That may
be why its hard to make the connection between the two; between theory
and practice.

But there's no secret about what happens when you add the energy of
youth - among other things, you have a lot of fun!
