Thanks, Julie - I'll confess to a little confusion as to the various
elements of Google Apps, and their relationship to services like
Postini, and I don't think I am alone in this. The latter has been
characterized as a litigation support tool, an archives tool, and a spam
filter. It appears to allow for the establishment of retention based on
user organization. Its this element that intrigues me. In my opinion, if
we can create "bucket" based user organizations, we can resolve one
significant challenge we are facing - the consistent application of
retention to email. It won't be perfect, and there will be the
inevitable exceptions, but I think we could set up a crude structure
that would be something of an "80% solution". It depends, however, on
how user organization is established, its flexibility, whether each
organization requires a separate contractual relationship, etc...
