I am an Archives Admin student and I'm working on an end of term project regarding records management.  I need to produce a report describing how a small company should manage their records.  I am trying to find out how much off site storage costs.  I contacted a local records storage company and they refused to even give me a ballpark figure, or even a broad range of what sort of fees they charge (I actually felt they were rather rude about it). Is this normal? Will these companies just never quote you unless you sit down with them and negotiate? 
Anyway, does anyone have any guidance on what secure off site storage of inactive records should cost? I am looking for a $x.xx per box, $x.xx per retrieval of box sort of thing.
