IMO, removing the option to forward is a good idea although all one would
have to do would be copy and paste it into another email. Forwarding
emails, again IMO, is not the best idea because as someone in my
organization commented the emails "get legs" and end up in unexpected
places and the sender may unexpectedly have to deal with questions that
arise out of context.

Subject: [external]Gmail update sparks public records concern
Sent by: Records Management Program <[log in to unmask]>

At the end of April, Google announced several Gmail updates, including a
new feature that would allow users to remove the option to forward, copy,
download or print messages. It also offers senders the option to create
expiration dates or revoke previously sent messages.

This caught the attention of National Freedom of Information Coalition,
which advocates for access to public records and information. The
organization's board President Mal Leary sent an open letter to Google CEO
Sundar Pichai warning of the new feature's unintended consequences.
