Aloha Listserv Colleagues and Friends:

I am taking the "show on the road" again this year, as I will be riding in the ADA Seattle Tour de Cure ride, run, and walk on Saturday, May 5th.

As you may know, I live with diabetes (I'm a Type 2) and I support the American Diabetes Association, as it is the leading organization in diabetes research and education. Finding a cure is important to me personally, so I am participating in the Tour de Cure which is bringing the community together for a fun ride, run and walk and to fundraise.
Having diabetes can be difficult at times. There are highs and lows, quite literally. Never knew what A1C was until I became diabetic in my 50s. But what I've learned is that behind every person with diabetes, there is an amazing support system. My family, friends, and my medical team make me realize that I am not alone. The American Diabetes Association is also a great resource for information and support. Visit my personal page at:

I really need all of your help in reaching my $1000 goal, so PLEASE support me by donating a dollar or more to my ride. I plan to make it a challenge...If I receive $250 in donations, I will ride 30 miles. If I receive $500 in donations, I will ride 63 miles/. If I am able to raise $1000 by the end of April, I will (gulp) attempt to ride 100 miles...I've never rode 100 miles, but I'll give it my best with your support.

You must be wondering...Am I nuts?? Well, close to it, but I am very passionate about fighting diabetes and keeping myself physically fit. It takes a "village" to make this happen, I'm hoping the ARMA Pacific Northwest Region will join me on May 5th and ride/run/walk with me. If you can't make it, please find in your hearts to donate to my cause.

There is a lot of fun and energy in the Pacific Northwest and I hope to capture it again in Seattle.

Mahalo,

Brian
