For what it's worth, here are some comparative dues. Note that some of these
are professional associations while others are trade associations. All
prices are for national (US) membership only; some have additional costs for
local chapter membership while others do not.

ICRM (www.icrm.org): $150/year, membership required to maintain active CRM
status
AIIM (www.aiim.org): $125/year for individual professional members
TAWPI (www.tawpi.org): $225/year
Xplor (www.xplor.org): $170/year
National Speakers Association (www.nsaspeaker.org): $600 first year, $425
annual renewal
American Society for Training & Development (www.astd.org): $180/year
Project Management Institute (www.pmi.org): $119/year
Society of American Archivists (www.archivists.org): $65-$180 depending on
salary
Assn of Internet Technology Professionals (www.aitp.org): $105
Special Libraries Association (www.sla.org): $99-$160 depending on salary

In reviewing these you may wish to consider the following questions:
1. What do you get for your dues?
2. What programs would you cut in order to keep your dues at the same level?

3. How much of the association's budget is supported by dues vs. conference
fees, vendor memberships, vendor sponsorship in other ways, etc.?
